James Cameron Interview

For those of you in the UK, this month Empire film magazine (The one with the Matrix front cover) has a very nice interview with James Cameron. He talks about Terminator 3 and why he didn't direct it, but the most interesting is about the Alien series. He said he was constantly arguing with Sigorny Weaver in Aliens because she never wanted to touch a gun in the film (got her wish in Alien 3 didn't she). He also talks about the possibility of Alien 5, noting that he does not see Sigorny as a vital part if they want to reguvinate the franchise. So, if you're in the UK, go out and at least read the article in the shop if you don't buy the whole thing (it is a number of pages long though, and worth a couple of quid)

Alien 5 and the Rerelease on Alien

Read about it here In addition to that the article also mention about a comment Weaver made on the rumored Alien 5. You read about this on AVP World and AVPNews. Corpral Hicks signing out!

Alien 5 - Cameron and Scott?

Following on from the tidbit last Thursday, AP have posted more on Cameron's new IMAX Titanic doco Ghosts Of The Abyss and there's more on the rumoured Alien 5. "Minus Cameron as writer and director, Schwarzenegger stars in the upcoming Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. The movie was directed by Jonathan Mostow, assuming the role of upstart director taking over someone else's franchise, which Cameron did when he directed 1986's Aliens. Alien director Ridley Scott initially was not amused, Cameron said. The two subsequently have talked about doing an Alien film together, with Cameron writing and producing and Scott directing, Cameron said. David Fincher's Alien 3 -- which killed off characters Cameron created, essentially negating the outcome of Aliens -- has braced Cameron for anything that Terminator 3 might deliver. "I'm like so over that by now. You can't hold on to that stuff," Cameron said. "There's nothing they can do to me on Terminator 3 that's going to be as outrageous as that." The entire article is here (again via Dark Horizons).

Cameron on Alien 5

There's been stories circulating about James Cameron returning to the Alien franchise of late, but only if Fox ditches the proposed Alien vs. Predator project to be helmed by Paul Anderson. No mention of AvP in this article from the Edmonton Sun (via Dark Horizons), but lots of talk of returning to Ridley Scott territory rather than rehashing the 'Ripley and soldiers' concept of Cameron's own installment.

Predator: Hunter's Match Trailer

The official movie trailer for our short/fan film "Predator: Hunter's Match" is now available at our website, www.sboobtv.com For those of you who are unfamiliar with Predator: Hunter's Match, it is a Predator fan/short film that we started over a year ago, but was sadly scrapped due to time constraints, production issues, and a dying interest on our part. In early November I decided to pick the project back up again and see what could be made of it; Now, the film is nearly complete, and will be ready about the time you can buy Todd McFarlane's Movie Maniacs 6 in stores. When that time comes, Predator: Hunter's Match will be available exclusively on DVD, which of course will be packed with all kinds of extra goodies to accompany the film. "Predator: Hunter's Match brings Predator fan film to a whole new level, with stunning special effects, high-quality video and sound, and a team of soldiers whose vulgar language would make Jesse Ventura blush. If you liked Dark Jungle, you'll love Hunter's Match." -Cory Bauer cbauer@mac.com http://www.sboobtv.com
