Executive Officer Kane is brought back onboard with an organism attached to his face, unconsious and incapacitated. Back enroute to Earth the creature dies and Kane seems to be fine. But, unknowningly Kane played host to another alien gestating inside him. During dinner the mature embryo bursts out of Kane's chest killing him instantly. The 6 remaining crewmembers are left to deal with the deadlist creature mankind has ever encountered. One by one the full grown alien kills off the Nostromo's crew, until just Leuitenant Ripley is left alive. In a desperate attempt to kill the beast, Ripley sets the ship to self-destruct and escapes in the lifeboat Narcissus. But the alien is smart. It stows away onboard the Narcissus and attacks Ripley as she is getting ready for cryosleep. Ripley is forced to strap into the pilot chair and jetison the alien out the small crafts airlock, then burn it in the thrusters. Safe and alone, Ripley is left to drift towards Earth, with hope of being discovered.
